Rites Held Monday For Joe Wilkinson

The funeral for Joe Wilkinson of Route 3, Honey Grove, was held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon, June 8 at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel. Mr. Wilkinson, ill for the past eight months, died at 2:15 o'clock Sunday morning, June 7, 1964, at the Page Rest Home in Honey Grove.

Officiant at the last rites was Rev. Edgar Cox, Assembly of God minister. Interment was at Page-Wilkerson Cemetery in the Sash Community, with Cooper-Sorrels directing.

Pallbearers were, Gene Wolfe, Bill Hancock, T. J. Galbraith, Randall Burks, Harvey Leman and Buddy Wilkinson.

A native of Sour Lake, Texas, Mr. Wilkinson was born May 10, 1882, the son of James Wilkinson and Mary Gray Wilkinson. He was married to Mary Page on August 27, 1918. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Sash.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Wilkinson of Honey Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde Hicks, Honey Grove; Mrs. W. D. Shelton of Borger and Mrs. Louis Newland of Amarillo; a step-daughtr Mrs. Annie Sutton, Honey Grove; six stepsons, E. A. Page, Ed Page, Charlie Page, Reuben Page and Louie Page, all of Honey Grove and Arthur Page of Dumas; a foster son, Billy Dean Wylie of Dallas; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
