William Wright

Military graveside rites for retired Staff Sgt. William Wilburn Wright, age 51, of Joaquin, who died Saturday at the VA Hospital in Shreveport, were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fannin Memorial Gardens conducted by Chaplain John W. Reed.

Wright was born in Boswell, Okla., Sept. 6, 1930. He retired from the US Air Force May 1, 1971. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Edward Wright. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Gilstrap of Joaquinn; two sons, William Wesley Wright and Jerry L. Wright, both of Grifffith, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Stephanie Karto-Crox of San Antonio, Mrs. Kimberly Ralston, of Manhattan, Kan., and Miss Lisa Wright of Salina, Kan.; five brothers, Harold Wright of Siloam Springs, Ark., Hubert Wright of Alvarado, and Tony and Edward Wright, both of Waxahachie; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lynn of Garland and Mrs. Jean Pierce of Ossining, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Fannin Memorial Gardens is located on TX121, 2 miles south of the intersection of TX56 and TX121 on the southern edge of Bonham. It is directly on the west side of the road and easily seen from TX121.
