Vester R. Jones

Vester R. Jones of 200 Oak Street, Honey Grove, died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 1983, at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13th, at 2 p.m. at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in the Carson Community, of which he was a member, Rev. Jesse Neal, pastor, officiated.

Burial was made at St. Mark Cemetery, Dodd City, under the direction of Fannin County Funeral Home of Bonham.

Jones was born July 23, 1916 in Fannin County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Ada Dodd Jones. He was married to Bessie Mae McGinnis.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Finney of Bonham, Mrs. Dorothy Meads of Paris and Annette Jones of Honey Grove; three sons, Walter, Bobby and Luther Jones all of Honey Grove; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Briggs of Bonham and Mrs. Willie Mae Battle, Honey Grove; thirteen grandchildren and other relatives.
