This cemetery has historically been called both Johnston and Johnson Family Cemetery. We have chosen to use the name Johnston for the Cemetery as this is the surname carved on the Johnston Family stones found here. More of the historical records regarding this family, however, seem to be found under Johnson.

Larry Standlee was able to access this cemetery in December 2008. He graciously photographed every stone and made a detailed transcription. He found pieces of two stones with no legible markings, a C.B.W. Footstone not associated with any headstone and a couple of Bois d'Arc stobs marking unknown burials. The stones of Tommy Cooper, Willie JohnstonCora A. Webb and Curtis Yarbrough were not found. Names and dates reported for them were from earlier transcriptions which did not record complete dates.

This cemetery is endangered. Unfenced, receives no care, many stones are down.
