Cemetery Statistics
The Terry Cemetery was once reported to have been absorbed into the Rehobeth Cemetery. In January 2011, we learned that this was not the case and that the Terry still exists as an independent cemetery near but not part of the Rehobeth. It is on private property, separately fenced and even separated from the Rehobeth by a deep creek bed.
Earlier transcripitons describe the location as "Three miles northeast of Wolfe City (Hunt County) and 150 yards west of the Rehobeth Cemetery and Chapel."
The cemetery steps off at about 30 yards deep by 45 yards wide. It is well fenced by the landowner and protected from cattle and other critters, but time and weather have had their way with many of the stones.
Many of the stones previously reported here are now missing, but we did find some of them and were even able to get photos and better transcriptions of those we found. If there is no photo, we did not find a stone.
